As in years past, AHEPA joined the International Coordinating Committee – Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA) for their annual conference in Washington, DC. Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos, Supreme Secretary Dr. Zenon Christodoulou, Board of Trustees Chairman Nicholas A. Karacostas, PSP, and AHEPA Veterans Affairs Committee Chair Col. Nicholas P. Vamvakias (Ret.) represented AHEPA at the event that took place at the Willard Hotel last week.

The Supreme President had the opportunity to introduce Congressman Frank Pallone of New Jersey during the breakfast session with members of Congress on Wednesday morning, and throughout the day, the AHEPA delegation had the opportunity to meet with many other members of Congress and the Senate. On their visit to Capitol Hill, the AHEPA representatives, accompanied by Delphi Chapter 25 Vice President Konstantinos Prentzas and a representative of Gus Cherevas Estia Pindus Chapter 326 in Flushing, New York, were able to speak with Maryland State Senator Chris Van Hollen briefly. Later, before the evening’s banquet, they met with New York State Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, who was awarded the AHEPA Pericles Award at the 46th Biennial Congressional Banquet last month.
