Order of AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations

DEADLINE – MARCH 15, 2022

Dear Brothers;

Our Athletic Scholarships and Scholar-Athlete Awards applications are now online! The order of  Ahepa has proudly awarded scholarships to a number of deserving Scholar-Athletes at the High  School and College Levels for a number of years. These scholarships are funded through the  generosity of Brother Ahepan(s) and or their families, often in honor of an active and  committed Brother or in the memory of a deceased Brother. The grants recognize and reward  the accomplishments, academic and athletic of whom will be the Hellenic community’s future  leader(s)! Some of the awards are weighted more heavily towards academic accomplishments,  and other(s) towards athletics greatness, but each have some component of outstanding  achievement in the field of sports and the classroom, and in many cases community service as  well.

An applicant must be nominated by a member of the AHEPA family, by use of the attached  2022 scholar-athlete / scholarship application form and or attachments. The deadline for  submission is, March 15th, 2022. Any and all questions should be forwarded to the Chairman of  the Scholars-Athlete Selection Committee, Attorney Gregory J. Stamos, email:  stamosatty@sbcglobal.net. Any Ahepan interested in Funding a Scholarship, should contact  PSC, Gregory J. Stamos!

AHEPA Hall of Fame

The AHEPA Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1974 and now includes more than 140 inductees. Each year candidates are nominated by members of the AHEPA family, and after a thorough vetting process, are selected by the 20 Hall of Fame Selection Committee members, who encompass a broad cross-section of engaged voters, with diversity as to geography, age, and athletic interests. Significantly, while selection certainly recognizes athletic achievement, the selection criteria tellingly also includes personal character and civic and community service.
