Board of Trustees Secretary Alex Geourntas, who serves as Boston’s Assistant City clerk, presented outgoing Consul General of Greece in Boston Stratos Efthymiou with a city proclamation for his outstanding service as consul general for the past five years. Geourntas made the presentation at the Maliotis Cultural Center, Brookline, Mass., June 21. 

Consul General Efthymiou is credited for being proactive with the New England Greek American community and for the establishment of direct flights from Boston to Athens via Delta Airlines.
