Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos ventured to America’s Midwest last week to visit AHEPA Chapters across Buckeye District 11. He was accompanied by Supreme Governor John Karipides and a delegation of District 11 AHEPA brothers.

His trip started with a visit to the Ohio State House, where he and hosts District 11 Governor Steve Papakirk and District 11 Secretary Jim Papakirk, as well as PSP Carl Hollister, visited Governor of Ohio Mike DeWine. Governor DeWine is a Brother Ahepan of Columbus Chapter 139 and a recipient of the 2022 District 11 Cleisthenes Award, which is bestowed to an Ahepan for a lifetime of work in service and leadership. From there, Tsivicos joined other members of the AHEPA family at Ohio State University in Columbus to help inaugurate the Laboratory for the Study of Greek Language before continuing on the visitation trail.

Next stop was Southwest Ohio where the Supreme President met with members from Dayton, Cincinnati, and Middletown for a productive discussion on AHEPA’s programs and community service efforts. The Supreme President was able to bestow AHEPA Heroes Medals on three well deserving recipients, AHEPA BOT Member and PSP Carl Hollister, AHEPA PDG and Chapter 113 President Nick J. Regopoulos, and Life Member of Middletown Chapter 209 Nicholas Ververis, in honor of their service and dedication to the Order of AHEPA. Congratulations Brothers!

During his visitation to the Buckeye District, the Supreme President also had the opportunity to spend time with AHEPA Brothers from our Louisville, Kentucky Chapter and present them with a donation to their chapter emergency relief fun in order to assist with the efforts they’ve put forth to deal with local natural disasters. Following that he joined members of the chapter for dinner.

Thank you to each and every one of the AHEPA Brothers who helped host the Supreme President during his visitation!
