The Order of AHEPA Celebrates its 100th Anniversary in Athens, Greece

On November 15, 2022, AHEPA hosted a banquet at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, Greece in honor of our of our 100th Anniversary.

Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas presented several awards on AHEPA’s behalf at the event that honored the military of both Greece and Cyprus. We were honored to have the commanding officers of each of the Greek Armed Forces present and awarded them the newly created AHEPA Vanguard Award, which was created to highlight impressive and dedicated military service in Greece and Cyprus. The Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, gave a formal response in which he highlighted the many ways in which the AHEPA has supported the armed services of Greece.

The Chief of the Cypriot National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, represented the armed services of Cyprus. He also received the 2022 Vanguard Award and spoke to those in attendance about the the decades old struggle in Cyprus as well as the efforts of the Order of AHEPA in aiding the armed services of Cyprus.

Additionally, AHEPA awarded the 2022 Chotas Philanthopic Award to both Sea Jets CEO Marios Iliopoulos and to Andreas Papadakos CEO of CanadaParks in Toronto, Canada. Both of these individuals have supported the AHEPA in many ways over the past few years, enabling us to continue to perpetuate the ideals and goals of our Order.

Members of the Greek Government representing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and various parties were in attendance as well.

Deputy Defense Minister Nikolaos Chardalias spoke on behalf of the Defense Ministry and stated that organizations like AHEPA perform a great service to their members and their communities and they advocate for their Greek patriots who maintain and support the armed services of the United States.

The sold out event was held at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens and the 535 guests were so appreciative of Supreme President Kokotas comments that focused on the 100 years of service AHEPA has provided on a global scale.

Supreme President Kokotas stated that the future of our organization is bright because the the foundations of the organization were so solidly built. No other organization has done so much, donated so much and persevered so much. Kokotas thanked all of the organizers and maintained that the AHEPA will grow and do wonderful things.
