Nine Student-Athlete Awardees Announced

Previous Student Athlete Awardees

AHEPA is proud to announce nine recipients of its 2022 National Student-Athlete Awards, announced Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas, Supreme Athletic Director Chris Atsaves, and Selection Committee Chair Gregory Stamos.

They are:

Devin Armstrong (soccer), Palm Harbor, Fla., is the recipient of the Anthony Leondis Scholar-Athlete Award, presented for superior accomplishments in athletics, academics, and community good.

Emmanuel Barris (golf, ice hockey), Hopkinton, Mass., and Mya Bokerman (diving), New Berlin, Wisc., are recipients of the John Peter Vlahos Scholar-Athlete Award, presented to an outstanding high school scholar-athlete.

Panos Burlos (football), Charlotte, N.C., is the Manchester Greats Scholarship Award honoree for superior accomplishments in academics and athletics.

Ioanna Copulos (volleyball), Boca Raton, Fla., is the recipient of the Dr. Monthe Kofos Scholar-Athlete Award, presented for outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities.

Carolyn Marie Hagler (diving), Grand Rapids, Mich., is the Past Supreme President Franklin R. Manios Scholar-Athlete and Service Award honoree, which recognizes achievements in academics, athletics, and community service.

Andrew Spirrison (tennis), Fishers, Ind., and Zachary Vlachos (soccer), Peabody, Mass., are recipients of the AHEPA Athletics Booster Club Excellence in Athletics Award, presented to an outstanding high school athlete.

Sofia Stephanopoulos (lacrosse, field hockey), Portsmouth, R.I., is the recipient of the Past Supreme President Phillip and Tula Frangos Scholar-Athlete Award, presented for outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and community service.

Ahepans and the AHEPA National Athletics Department fund and sponsor the scholarship awards aimed to support the each student-athlete’s academic aspirations and their development as future leaders. The awards will be presented at the AHEPA Centennial Supreme Convention on July 19, 2022. Congratulations to the honorees!
