In a historic moment, Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos, accompanied by a delegation, extended a warm welcome to the new Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitri Houpis. A proud member of AHEPA, General Houpis takes the reins from General Konstantinos Floros, whose term ended, marking a significant transition in the Hellenic Armed Forces Changing of Command.

The transition of office was celebrated with a military exercise witnessed by hundreds of soldiers and spectators. Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias also in attended.

Amidst this momentous occasion, Supreme President Tsivicos and the delegation, including Canadian President Emmanuel Constas, seized the opportunity to engage in impactful discussions. They fostered collaboration at the Ministry of Defense with Deputy Minister Ioannis Kefalogiannis, delved into diplomatic ties with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras, and connected with the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad, John Chrysoulakis. These discussions not only strengthened bonds within the Greek community but also built bridges for a brighter future, embodying AHEPA’s commitment to leadership and collaboration on a global scale.
