The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) commends the collective efforts of the Greek American community for their tireless support of The Eastern Mediterranean Gateway Act, approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
This landmark legislation will now proceed to the Senate and subsequently the House for ratification. AHEPA will continue to monitor and facilitate the progression of this act.
Following a successful AHEPA Capitol Hill event on May 14, where over 100 Ahepa Family members engaged with elected officials, the organization will maintain its momentum.
Key provisions of the act include enhancing energy security and defense cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean, fostering dialogue with IMEC partners, developing cross-border infrastructure, and requiring annual congressional reports. The act prioritizes security cooperation with Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and Egypt, while deterring hostile actions.
Chris Kaitson, Supreme President of AHEPA, congratulates the community partners who contributed to this achievement.
