AHEPA, DOP Executive Directors on Capitol Hill

Headquarters

Washington, D.C. office

unnamed-10

AHEPA Executive Director Basil Mossaidis and Daughters of Penelope Executive Director Elena Saviolakis went to Capitol Hill on Sept. 29 to meet with members of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues.

Meetings were held with U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney (at right), co-chair, Hellenic Caucus; John Sarbanes, Dina Titus, and Frank Pallone. A scheduled meeting with U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, co-chair, Hellenic Caucus, had to be postponed due to the congressman’s responsibilities in the congressional district due to Hurricane Ian.

They discussed the AHEPA family’s policy priorities and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, and provided updates about AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope service programs that strengthen our society.

The AHEPA family is grateful to each of the members of Congress for taking time out of a very busy voting schedule to meet in the U.S. Capitol.

The executive directors also specifically conveyed the community’s appreciation to Congresswoman Maloney for her decades of passionate and effective leadership of the Hellenic Caucus, which she co-founded, and her impactful public service.
With Congresswoman Titus.
With Congressman Pallone.
