In December, a tenth AHEPA-sponsored shipping container of medical supplies arrived at Thessaloniki and was delivered to the AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloniki, announced Supreme President George E. Loucas.
Supplies from the container were also delivered to the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis for delivery to medical facilities throughout Thrace. Ahepans from Alexander the Great Chapter HJ-3, Thessaloniki were on-hand to receive the delivery.
“Austerity measures have had a devastating impact upon the ability of hospitals to purchase medical supplies and equipment,” Loucas said. “The need continues to be very real. AHEPA, working in cooperation with the IOCC, is proud to be able to facilitate the shipment of a significant amount of aid to help address the medical supply shortage in Greece.”
According to Loucas, AHEPA plans to secure a second container for shipment in fall 2019. Each container is secured with a $15,000 donation.
