While visiting Komotini, Greece for the District 25 Midwinter Conference, Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos had the pleasure of meeting General Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff. General Choupis welcomed members of the Supreme Lodge and local Chapter Members at an AHEPA-hosted event in the local Komotini Amphitheater.

During this event, he briefed the attendees on the military preparedness of the Greek Armed Forces and the challenges they face in Thrace – a geographical region in Southeast Europe that encompasses parts of Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, the Balkan Mountains, and the Aegean and Black Sea. Supreme President Tsivicos was also afforded the opportunity to speak before the crowd, receiving much support from the District 25 attendees. The meeting was productive, insightful, and a true honor to all those who attended.
