Brother Franklin R. Manios, a revered leader who served the Order of AHEPA as Supreme President and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees passed away this Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Supreme President Chris Kaitson is saddened by the news on the passing of Brother Franklin R. Manios, a revered leader who served the Order of AHEPA as Supreme President and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He passed away on October 7, 2025.

Brother Franklin R. Manios was a cornerstone of the AHEPA community, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication and remarkable achievements. His tenure as Supreme President was for one term (2004-2005). He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, marked by significant milestones that profoundly impacted the organization and its core mission to promote Hellenic ideals of education, philanthropy, and civic responsibility.

During his term as Supreme President, he oversaw the establishment of the Stelios Petroulas Scholarship fund, the relaunching of an updated AHEPA website, and the expansion of AHEPA’s footprint in Cyprus. He elevated the national recognition of Constantino Brumidi, the Artist of the Capitol, on the 200th anniversary of his birth.

During Brother Frank’s tenure as Chairman of the AHEPA’s Board of Trustees, he joined then Supreme President Nicholas A. Karacostas, Esq., in making a $100,000 presentation and fulfilling AHEPA’s pledge to Leadership 100.

Brother Frank was a Life member of the Zeus Franklin Manios Chapter No. 88 located in Warren, OH, and the chapter was recently renamed in his honor. Brother Frank was a staunch promoter and supporter of the AHEPA Athletics Department as a sponsor of one of the program’s scholar-athlete scholarship awards.

Brother Frank was the founder of Franklin Pharmacy, which later turned into (Franklin Pharmacy & Health Care). He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh – School of Pharmacy in 1957. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1953-1955). He was a very active member in his church (St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church) and other civic organizations within his local community of Warren, OH.
