Over Presidents Day Weekend, the Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena joined forces to host their annual Greeks in Miami coed volleyball tournament in Miami, Florida. Members of AHEPA’s junior orders traveled from all over the United States and Canada to participate in the weekend’s events.
Eight teams competed in the two-day volleyball tournament that ended in a matchup between the Sons of Pericles of Charlotte, N.C., and the Maids of Athena of Tallahassee, Fla. Congratulations to the Charlotte SOP, who won the tournament’s $500 prize. Over 150 members and guests joined the SOP & MOA at their Greek Night on Saturday evening, where they packed the Saloni Bar by Meraki and danced until closing time.
The tournament was a resounding success. Thanks to the generous sponsorships, the Sons and Maids offset many of the administrative costs, allowing for a majority of proceeds to benefit their joint National Project, The Children’s Miracle Network. If you would like to become a sponsor of the next “Greeks in…” event, look for information on sonsofpericles.org or maidsofathena.org.
