Supreme President Chris Kaitson led a high-level AHEPA delegation to Greece this week, highlighting the organization’s continued commitment to Hellenism, philanthropy, and international cooperation. Joined by Supreme Governor Stathis Kefalidis, AHEPA Canada President Tassos Moussas, and Past Supreme Presidents Nick Karacostas and Savas Tsivicos, the visit included a series of meetings, ceremonies, and chapter activations across the country.
The visit began in Athens, where the delegation toured Evangelismos Hospital to view the new burn unit being developed in the AHEPA Wing. They also visited the AHEPA Medical Library, constructed a decade ago through AHEPA’s ongoing support of medical research, and paid tribute at the AHEPA Statue of U.S. President Harry S. Truman, an AHEPA member honored for his steadfast support of Greece and Hellenism. The delegation also attended the 2025 AHEPA Awards Banquet, extending felicitations to District 25 for its outstanding work and growth.

During the same week, Supreme President Kaitson participated in a welcome rally hosted by the Israel-Greece Friendship Association in honor of incoming U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle. With philanthropist Eleni Bousis serving as the keynote speaker, President Kaitson congratulated the new ambassador and expressed confidence that her tenure would further strengthen U.S.-Greece relations and regional stability.
The following days saw an energetic series of meetings with AHEPA’s northern chapters. In Thessaloníki, the Supreme President attended a regional conference encompassing chapters from Thessaloníki, Volos, Katerini, Komotini, and beyond—drawing roughly 100 attendees and welcoming 30 new initiates. With the assistance of Sons of Pericles Supreme Governor Panagiotis Kotsalis, Supreme President Kaitson helped to reactivate Sons of Pericles Aristotelis Chapter HJ-01 in Thessaloniki, as well as initiate new members into SOP Pericles Chapter HJ-04 of Athens. President Kaitson commended District 25 Governor Nikos Dimitropoulos for his leadership and dedication to expanding AHEPA’s presence across Greece.

On November 3, the delegation visited the AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloníki for the unveiling of a newly renovated surgical wing—an effort that raised more than $200,000 in cooperation with District 25. Established in 1949, the AHEPA Hospital stands as a lasting symbol of the organization’s global philanthropy and dedication to public health, with millions donated since its founding to improve care for thousands of patients.

Rounding out the trip, President Kaitson met with the President of Aristotle University and the director of the Medical School to discuss an upcoming 2026 Expo Forum focused on artificial intelligence. AHEPA is expected to play a major role in promoting the event, which aims to draw thousands of visitors and foster dialogue on technology and innovation within Greece’s academic and medical communities.
Through these visits and initiatives, Supreme President Chris Kaitson reaffirmed AHEPA’s vital role in advancing education, healthcare, and Hellenic ideals both in Greece and abroad—continuing a legacy of service that spans more than a century.
