Supreme President Kaitson participated in the presentation of the AHEPA Veterans Committee’s George Dilboy Award, which was established on May 13, 2026. The inaugural award was presented to AHEPA Veterans Committee Chairman, retired U.S. Army Colonel Nicholas P. Vamvakias, in recognition of his dedicated service and leadership.

District 3 proudly presented the George Dilboy Award to Brother Derek Koukies, a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. Brother Koukies has faithfully served AHEPA Chapter 9 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in numerous elected positions throughout the years, most recently as Chapter President. His commitment to both his country and the mission of AHEPA exemplifies the values and spirit embodied by the George Dilboy Award.

Congratulations, Brother Koukies, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your service, leadership, and continued dedication to AHEPA and the communities you serve.
