On Friday, July 17, at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York, AHEPA Past Supreme Governor Tom Dushas hosted a breakfast reception for George Latimer, New York congressman for the 16th congressional district.
New Rochelle Chapter 405 leaders Joseph Keane, George Curtis, James Zafiros, along with Holy Trinity’s Father Nicholas Anctil, were part of the chapter’s welcoming committee.
Gregory Tsougranis, President of Bronx AHEPA Chapter 175 and Marshall of the New York District Lodge, participated in the reception with a brief presentation on AHEPA’s 104-year journey.
Congressman George Latimer was joined by Robert Hoch, senior congressional advisor, and Valon Nikci, who is a member of the congressman’s job and economy task force, president of a Westchester real estate company, and member of the Forbes Business Council.
All joined a roundtable discussion dealing with the Hellenic Caucus, military issues affecting the eastern Mediterranean, and economic issues dealing with the 16th Congressional District.
Plans are being developed for Congressman Latimer, Robert Hoch, and Valon Nikci to join the New Rochelle, James Plevritis – Joseph C. Keane, 405 chapter’s initiation galas later this year.
