AHEPA Supreme President Chris Kaitson and Supreme Secretary Themistocles Frangos recently visited Odyssey Charter School in Wilmington, Delaware, to celebrate the grand opening of its new Greek immersion facility. This milestone marks the culmination of over two decades of planning and community support, including early fundraising efforts by local AHEPA volunteers.
During the event, Supreme President Kaitson emphasized the significance of the school’s commitment to bilingual education, stating, “This is a testament to what bilingual education can do for these kids.” He commended the school’s innovative approach and its role in preserving and promoting Greek language and culture.
Odyssey Charter School’s Greek immersion program, which began in 2017, now serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade, with plans to expand through high school. The new facility is expected to enhance the school’s capacity to deliver quality education while fostering a deeper connection to Hellenic heritage.
AHEPA’s involvement underscores its longstanding dedication to supporting educational initiatives that promote Greek culture and language in the United States.
