On Saturday, March 29th, 2025, Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos had the opportunity to address the crowd at the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York’s Annual Greek Independence Gala. The Gala, which honored both the Grand and Honorary Marshalls of the 2025 New York City Greek Independence Day Parade, was held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York, NY and featured musical entertainment by the Kyrenia Opera in addition to Dinner and Awards Presentations.

The Supreme President, Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson, Supreme Treasurer Themistocles P. Frangos, Chairman of the Board Nicholas A. Karacostas, PSP, DOP Grand President Margaret Dritsas and SOP Supreme President Alec Economakis were present as representatives of the AHEPA Family at the event.

The next morning, the Supreme President was invited to speak at the official parade kickoff breakfast at the Pierre hotel. He addressed the assembled dignitaries, speaking about the importance of the day and what an honor it was to be a part of the commemoration of the anniversary of Greek Independence Day. AHEPA has been a supporter of New York’s Greek Independence Day parade for years and was proud to be able to participate in such a large capacity this year.
