We’re officially underway at the 97th Annual AHEPA Family Supreme Convention in Chicago!
Attendees have flown in from around the world to convene our annual meeting and to take in all that the Windy City has to offer.
Over the past weekend, we were also excited to host the AHEPA National Housing Corporation’s quarterly board meeting as a lead-up to the convention. The corporation continues to do amazing work to provide dignified affordable housing for our nation’s elderly. Check it out here.
More than 225 of our conventioneers attended the Opening Ceremony on Monday evening. The gorgeous Empire Ballroom at the stunning Palmer House Hilton provided the perfect venue.
Our business sessions have begun and our committees are hard at work. We sincerely appreciate our dedicated members who volunteer their time, energy, and resources for the Good of the Order.
We are looking forward to cultural and social events that only Chicago can offer that began last night with A Night at the Art Institute of Chicago hosted by our local AHEPA family. Tonight, we’ll hold an AHEPA Family Celebration at the historic University Club of Chicago.
Our famous International Koulouraki Contest has been held and we’ll announce the winner Thursday morning. Speaking of which–it will be the Fourth of July and we cannot wait to celebrate with a special Fourth of July Greek Night!
And of course we are all looking forward with excitement for our pinnacle event, the Grand Banquet. Michael G. Psaros will be honored with the AHEPA Socrates Award and Gregory Pappas will be honored with the Academy of Achievement Award. It will be a historic evening as we will be welcoming His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America for the first time to an AHEPA family event!
Thank you to our generous sponsors!
