Between November 29th and December 1st, a delegation of members of the District 28 Lodge and Chapter officers from within the district had the opportunity to visit Constantinople and meet His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, at the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The delegation visited on the occasion of Saint Andrews festivities to show support for the Patriarchate and their causes. They made a substantial donation on behalf of AHEPA District 28 as an example of that support, and His All Holiness specifically referenced AHEPA in the speech he gave.

“…We also welcome among us the honorable presence of the delegation of the European region (District 28) of AHEPA, under the leadership of its Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Dimosthenis Mammonas. In your faces, we send a paternal greeting to your entire Organization and express our appreciation and satisfaction for the important work it is undertaking. We wish you full success to your philanthropic endeavors and urge you to continue, with undiminished devotion to the Mother Church, your precious services to her and our pious Genus. Welcome again!…”

The delegation was led by District 28 Governor Dimosthenis Mammonas, and included Lt. Governor, Ioannis Amoutzas, Secretary, Savvas Apostolides, Director of Education, George Linardakis, Director of Philanthropy, Alex Makridis and Warden, Christos Perperidis.
