Syracuse AHEPA Chapter 37 Celebrates Centennial

Syracuse AHEPA Chapter 37 celebrated its 100th Anniversary with a Gala dinner dance held at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church on October 26th, 2024. Music was provided by The Aegeans and DJ Dion. Over 150 community and AHEPA family members came together in support of this significant milestone in the history of the chapter.

Four members were honored during the evening including The Honorable Theodore H. Limpert County Court judge and Director of Veterans Affairs for the chapter, The Honorable John Lemondes, New York State Assemblyman for District 126, Peter P. Panels, Esq., past President, member and legal counsel to the chapter and Filip Georgakopoulos for his lifetime of support and advancement of Hellenism. The chapter received a 100th – 10K Diamond Certificate from the AHEPA Supreme Lodge.

Dignitaries in attendance included Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson, Supreme Governor Region 3 Dean Moskos, District 6 Governor Michael Labatos, District 6 Lieutenant Governor Gus Constantine, District 6 Executive Secretary Chris Pappis, Daughters of Penelope Grand Governor Zone I Lainie Damaskos-Christou, Past District 6 Governors Demi Pamboukes and Mike Papapanu, Albany Chapter 140 Past President Michael Koutsourades, Flower City Chapter 67 President Nick Evevsky and Secretary Dennis Kiriazides.

The highlight of the evening was a video compilation with accompanying narrative spoken by Brother Michael Benny titled “AHEPA Syracuse Chapter 37 – The First One Hundred Years”. Congratulations brothers!
