The Order of AHEPA congratulates Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End George Karlaftis upon becoming a two-time Super Bowl Champion following Kansas City’s win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
“We commend George and salute the remarkable achievements he has earned thus far in his early professional career,” Supreme President Savas Tsivicos said. “We are proud to count him as former honoree and wish him continued success in the NFL.”
Karlaftis performed admirably in Sunday’s Super Bowl, tallying a key fumble recovery, a half-quarterback sack and several pressures of the quarterback.
A proud Hellene, Karlaftis earned the 2020 AHEPA-William Chirgotis Outstanding College Athlete award as a standout during his playing time at Purdue University (watch video). Kansas City selected him with the 30th pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Entry Draft.
